Recipe "NASI UDUK".. tasteful... from Jakarta

NASI UDUK



INGREDIENTS:


250 gram rice

350 gram thick coconut milk

SPICE:


2 Lemongrass stalks > bruised

2 Indonesian by leaves
Salt to taste



METHOD:



- Wash and drain rice, using a pot, cook the rice along with coconut milk,
  Lemongrass and Indonesian by leaves, when the rice is half cooked,transfer to
  a traditional rice steamer. Continue until the rice is cooked through.

  Note: Adding just one kaffir lime leaf could significantly intensify the aroma and
        flavor of the rice.

- Place rice on a serving plate. Garnish with fried shallots.
  Serve with side dishes such as fried tempe/tofu, fried chicken
  sweet fried beef and others.
